Partnership Agreements

Our partnership agreements are the commitments community organizations or groups agree to when seeking a partnership with Iowa Fair Air Network (FAN),  including when requesting masks from FAN (not applicable to individual masks requests)

1. Acknowledge the Pandemicene

To acknowledge that we have entered the “pandemicene,” a climate-change induced era described by Ed Yong as “a time defined by the power of viruses over humanity and the wider world”, and its continuing risk to our health, especially to disabled and immunocompromised community members, children, Black, Indigenous, trans, incarcerated, poor community members and all marginalized people. To publicly communicate with the organization’s or event’s audience that there are ongoing pandemics and masks are a tool to prevent viral spread.

2. Masks Required Policy

Implement a Masks Required Policy at gatherings for those who are physically able to mask. If people cannot mask for accessibility reasons, accommodations can be made. When those who can mask do, it protects those who cannot. We all play a part in keeping the community safe!

3. Model by Example and Educate

Organizers should model proper masking practices including wearing a mask over the nose and mouth, with no gaps between the mask and skin, and keeping the mask on for the duration of a gathering. If someone needs to remove their mask they should step outside and maintain a large distance away from others. Organizers also agree to educate attendees on proper masking practices and continue to remind attendees throughout the duration of a gathering if improper practices are observed.

4. Recognize Partnership

Recognize the partnership with FAN. Please plug FAN’s website or socials when distributing masks or sharing about a gathering with FAN provided masks so more people can get connected to us! For organizations who commit to this agreement, FAN would also be happy to share and promote them and their events.

5. Demonstrate an Ongoing Commitment to Mitigating Viral Spread

In addition to utilizing masks, be cognizant to implement other layers of mitigation including air purification, hand sanitizer, and testing.
